Background
I’m originally from New Jersey and currently live in North Carolina while studying at Duke. My academic interests sit between literature, economics, public life, and education. I’m especially interested in how reading and writing shape the way people understand history, argument, character, and responsibility.
At Duke, my coursework has led me toward questions that cross the humanities and social sciences. In English, I’m drawn to close reading, criticism, narrative form, and the moral imagination of literature. In Economics, I’m interested in how institutions, incentives, policy, and behavior shape public outcomes.
Reading and Writing
Writing is one of the main ways I think through ideas. My book reviews are written as short critical essays rather than casual summaries. I try to pay attention to style, argument, structure, and the larger questions a book raises.
Macroeconomic Work
My macroeconomic thesis collects my work on evidence, judgment, and macroeconomic policy. It reflects my interest in how economic analysis moves between national aggregates, institutions, and individual lives.
Tutoring
I also tutor students in reading, writing, English, economics, mathematics, study skills, standardized test preparation, and college application essays. My tutoring work is shaped by the same habits that guide my academic work: clarity, patience, close attention, and a respect for the student’s own thinking. My goal is to help students become more confident and more precise in how they read, write, solve problems, and explain their ideas.
Outside the Classroom
Outside of class, I follow Duke sports, ski when I can, read frequently, watch movies, travel, and look for good sushi.
